Bentley Community Schools is located in Burton, MI, Genesee County, on Interstate 69. The district is almost 4 square miles just east of Flint, MI. The district currently services 824 students, ranging in age from Pre-K through twelfth grade, as well as BOLD, the alternative education program. The secondary campus is located just north of Exit 141 and the elementary school, Barhitte, is located one mile south.
Bentley prides itself on being a close-knit, family-friendly community. Parents always welcomed within each of the school buildings. The staff gets to know the students very well and works hard to make sure students individual needs are met both academically and socially.
The Middle School building was reopened at the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year, and we have seen dramatic improvements in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students' behaviors. We are anticipating higher performance in academic areas as evidenced by our standardized assessments beginning with the 2014-15 school year as a result of the students' placement in a developmentally appropriate learning environment.
The elementary and middle schools have been approved for school-wide Title I status so the schools can implement school-wide systems of academic and social/emotional intervention.
The Bentley Community Schools’ District is undergoing transformational change as we prepare to be highly competitive in all areas. It is our goal to be the little district everyone wants to be in.
